I believe that Maman differs because of the emphasis it puts on community building & brand experience. Maman is dedicated to quality food & pastries and excellent coffee beverages. Still, the brand started as a cafe to escape the hustle & bustle of New York City and stays dedicated to that origin as it opens new stores in new markets.

A lot of the inspiration comes from recipes in our owners' families. One of our founders is from France, the other from Canada, and they constantly find ways of including their mother's recipes in new menu additions. After all, 'maman' means mother in French!

Maman's mission statement and vision revolve around gathering friends & families around the table for food & good conversation. Many of our Maman cafes in New York City have a no laptop policy to encourage customers to take a break from work & the high stress of the city and have a coffee with a friend or with their thoughts. Maman also names most of its menu items after the women in the company and the women who have left an impact on members of the team in general, a continuation of the family tradition behind the success of Maman.

Maman continues to build its brand across different markets on the East Coast, including further stores in the DC metro area & future stores in Miami going into 2024. Maman continues to build its events & catering sectors and overall transition from a simple brick-and-mortar business model towards a vast online e-commerce portfolio & distinction as a holistic experience brand.
