Nécessaire Is Next Level Skincare

Nécessaire is a skincare necessity. The brand has sparked a skincare revolution aimed at encouraging everyone to treat their bodies like their faces. I had the opportunity to speak with Maureen C., Vice President of Content, to learn more about Nécessaire's mindset.

1. What makes Nécessaire different from other products on the market?

Since its launch in 2018, Nécessaire has been about designing The Necessary™and creating products using facial-grade ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E for the body. No fake fragrances, no fillers. Just effective formulas that provide a functional and sensorial experience—in and out of the shower. In addition, Nécessaire formulates without ingredients on the EU's prohibited substances list. Another layer of thecompany is about making a positive impact everywhere we can. We are vegan/Leaping Bunny certified as well as climate-and plastic-neutral certified, we give 1% back for every sale, and we guarantee everything we make.

2. How has Nécessaire adapted to the post-pandemic world?

Since being at home, people have recognized and ritualized the art of taking care of themselves. Nécessaire has always made products that help transform skincare into self-care with everyday essentials like a body wash, lotion, and oil that not only feel great but also deliver results. We always ask ourselves: Why are we making this? How can we improve on this from a formulation and environmental perspective? because we exist to offer better personal care products made responsibly and rooted in facts. I think people value that, especially in a post-pandemic world.

3. How does Nécessaire incorporate its mission and vision into its product offering?

We are in business to inspire conscious consumption. We are conscientious ofeverything we make and the process it takes to produce responsibly. But we don't do it alone. We do it in partnership with those in the company, vendor partners, retailers, and of course, our community. The company is rooted in two pillars of care: Care for your body and care for your planet. That ethos is what drives our innovation.

4. What is the future of the company?

We will always be motivated by the idea of less but better. We will continue to offer The Necessary™staples our customers want and need—for every part of the body.
