Rachel Huss

Hello, my name is Rachel Huss! Thank you so much for stopping by Husstling Around Town: the blog that allows you to find hidden gems. My love for uncovering unknown places began when I was eleven. My mom showed me the PBS documentary: In the Footsteps of Marco Polo. This film chronicles the lives of two photographers traveling the Silk Road during the early 1990s after the fall of the Soviet Union. This one film changed the trajectory of my life as it introduced me to the world of storytelling. A lot has happened between 2009 and today. I have been fortunate to travel around Europe, Asia, and North America. I went to the University of Central Florida for my Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Diplomacy. I enjoyed applying the lessons I learned in the classroom as I was on the UCF Scholarship Committee Vice-Chair, a cheerleader for the UCF dance marathon, and an advocate for the Jewish Community with Hillel. After college, I did not know what I wanted to do. But, I saw that small mom-and-pop shops could use one-on-one guidance for social media.  Thus, I started my business Huss Consulting. I have met with small business owners across fields to help them attract new business opportunities.  I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying Media and Communications with a focus in Strategic Communications at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. In my spare time,  I continue to help small mom-and-pop businesses, and when I have the time, rewatch the PBS documentary: In the Footsteps of Marco Polo.  I am so excited to unearth hidden gems with you.
