Design Thinking: HUNZA G

In Graduate School, one of the buzzwords professors love to discuss is "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables a company to understand consumer needs to serve their audience better. For this project, I contacted different companies to learn how the organizations apply Design Thinking into their market offerings. I had the opportunity to talk with Fi T., Operations Manger, to learn more about the brand.

1. What makes HUNZA G different from other brands on the market?

We make both our end product but also our fabric. We have an exclusive fabric which no-one else is able to make to our exact standards and a one size fit product that has a broad customer base in terms of size and age which is very unique in the swim market.

2. How does HUNZA G stay ahead of upcoming trends?

We are true to our own product and although aware of trends don’t follow them. We see ourselves as making product for our customer for a lifetime.

Our creative director draws inspiration from the things she sees, places she goes, the people around her and places she travels. There is no set source of inspiration.
