Water is the source of life. Yet, only 0.5% is potable and accessible to humans (California-Great Basin-2020). The remaining water is either ocean water or trapped in glaciers (California-Great Basin-2020). Icelandic Glacial Water differs from other waters because its high PH. level and low mineral count (Icelandic Glacial Water, 2021). I had the chance to speak with Icelandic Glacial Water to learn more about Icelandic water.

1. What makes Icelandic Glacial water different from other waters around the world?

Icelandic Glacial Water comes from an exceptionally pure, sustainable source and is naturally alkaline. Icelandic Glacial is sourced from the legendary Ölfus Spring in Iceland, one of the world’s most pristine ecosystems. Filtered slowly through ancient lava rock, it possesses a naturally low mineral content (TDS of 62ppm) that does not crowd the palate with heavy metals, minerals, or silica. A water so pure, nothing is added; nothing taken away.

2. How does Icelandic Glacial promote water conservation in Iceland?

Icelandic Glacial was the world’s first bottled water to be certified as CarbonNeutral® for both product and operation. Due to the sheer magnitude of water existing in Iceland, there are plenty of opportunities to use this valuable resource in renewable ways, including energy production. Icelandic Glacial facilities are powered by hydroelectric and geothermal energy, which are only part of the practices that have kept us certified Carbon Neutral for product and operation since 2007. Additionally, Icelandic Glacial bottles less than .1% of the annual overflow from the Ölfus Spring to the ocean every year.

3. Why should a customer buy your water?

Taste and source. The exceptional spring source yields an exceptional taste that makes new-to-brand customers become enthusiastic brand advocates. We believe you are what you drink. And when you drink Icelandic Glacial you can feel good, inside and out.

4. What is the future of the company?

The future of Icelandic Glacial depends on future innovations to align with the consumer’s changing needs and desires. Recent Icelandic Glacial innovations like our 5L Refrigerator Pack are a great example of aligning with the desire to have a more convenient way to hydrate with our products and reduce single use PET bottles. Additional innovations coming up will help us continue our success and growth as a small company making big waves in the premium water industry.
