Design Thinking: Dragon Diffusion

Image depicts a woman carrying the Rosanna bag in Orange. Dragon Diffusion describes the Rosanna bag as, "he epitome of timeless elegance and functionality. Crafted with precision and care, Rosanna is a woven leather baguette bag that effortlessly combines style and practicality. Its unique silhouette offers versatility, allowing you to effortlessly drape it over your shoulder for easy carrying. What sets Rosanna apart is its intricate weaving pattern. Made of irregular leather weaving straps that delicately taper towards the brim, Rosanna's design is reminiscent of the beloved best-seller, the Santa Croce. This subtle nod to a classic favorite adds an extra layer of sophistication to Rosanna's allure. An antiqued St. Christopher medal charm, in homage to the patron saint of travellers, is hand-sewn inside each and every Dragon Diffusion bag—our brand’s very own seal of authenticity."

In Graduate School, one of the buzzwords professors love to discuss is "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables companies to understand consumer needs to serve their audience better. For this project, I contacted different companies to learn how organizations applied Design Thinking. I spoke with Ines from Dragon Diffusion to learn how the company incorporates its mission and vision into its products.

Image depicts the PIC POCKET in GRANNY GREEN. Dragon Diffusion describes this purse as, "The "Pic Pocket" is a streamlined phone crossbody pochette, handwoven for a touch of elegance. Its flat shape and open top design provide easy access to your essentials, while the interlaced weaving offers a stylish look. Perfect for those who need simplicity and functionality, the Pic Pocket is ideal for daily use or special occasions, keeping your items secure and accessible. We are a group of Artisan Leather weavers. Each bag is entirely crafted by hand. This product has been handcrafted, so no two pieces are alike. If you find any curve in the weaving or 2 tone shade in color, these are due to our unique process and not a manufacturing flaw. When this leather becomes wet, there may be slight decoloration or transfer when rubbed. We use natural dyes in coloring of our straps and the irregular tones is part of the charm of this product. Over time this bag will age and develop a natural patina that only traditional made leather will give. St. Christopher is the patron saint for travelers. This medal is a symbol of our faith and goodwill, that way protect you and the bag for years to come."
