In Graduate School, professors loved to discuss "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables companies to understand consumer needs.

In this article series, I contacted different companies to learn how organizations apply Design Thinking. I spoke with La Petitie Lab's Amanda to learn more about the company.

  1. What makes La Petite Labs different from other pet supplements?

La Petite Labs is built like a modern longevity nutrition brand, not a cute pet vitamin brand. We take a systems based approach to wellness. Instead of chasing one trendy ingredient at a time, we build formulas around how aging actually works in the body: cellular energy (NAD+), oxidative stress, inflammation, immune resilience, and structural integrity like skin and barrier function.

We’re also obsessive about quality: made in the USA, third party tested, fully transparent labeling, and no fillers or fluff. A lot of the industry still runs on low transparency overseas manufacturing. We’re building something more premium, more rigorous, and more trust first.

  1. How has La Petite Labs evolved since its founding?

We started with a simple belief: pets deserve the same level of scientific care we expect for ourselves.

Over time, we evolved from “a good supplement” into a true wellness system, deeper research, stronger formulation strategy, better manufacturing standards, and tighter quality control.

We’ve also made a deliberate decision to play the long game. We’ve invested heavily in product development with veterinary nutritionists, pharmacologists, and veterinarian contributors, and spent far less on hype marketing. The goal is to earn trust through outcomes, consistency, and word of mouth.

  1. How does La Petite Labs incorporate its mission and vision into products?

Everything starts with one question: if this pet is truly family, what would responsible daily nutrition look like? That shows up in how we formulate. We design around biology, not buzzwords. We prioritize ingredient synergy. We build for daily use, meaning routine compliance and palatability matter.

And we stay transparent, because pet parents and vets deserve to know exactly what’s on the label. We don’t believe in proprietary mystery blends. Real wellness requires clarity.

  1. How do pet supplements help a pet’s overall health?

A good supplement doesn’t replace food. It supports the systems that naturally weaken with modern life and aging. That can include cellular energy, immune resilience, oxidative stress defense, healthy inflammation response, and structural support like skin, coat, and barrier integrity.

The key is consistency. Supplements work best as a daily ritual, not something used only when a problem shows up.

  1. What’s the future of the company?

We’re building toward one goal: becoming the most trusted longevity and wellness system in the pet space. That means more geroscience inspired formulas, even tighter manufacturing and testing standards, and more education written with real veterinary and scientific oversight.

We also have major upgrades coming in summer 2026: a new website, improved formulations, stronger quality standards, and significantly better palatability technology. High performance formulas can taste like bitter medicine, so making daily use easy is a big part of what we’re solving.

We’re here for the long run. We want to be the default choice for serious pet parents, the ones who want to protect a family member, not just buy another trendy supplement.
