How do you win the game of social media thrones? Why do you want to be on the verified iron throne? On the ever-changing battlefield, who yields the most sage advice? Idalia Salsamendi is the social media wizard. She crafts messages, strategies, and images to bolster the social media influencers' round table. I had the chance to speak with her to learn more about her methods.

1. Why is business strategy important?

It's always imperative for any business to think about its sustainability in its respective market, ensuring it's not just a flash in the pan. In order to achieve a long-term career, strategy is key. It's the blueprint of any business to propel it forward and also evolve over time.

2. How can a person develop into a great strategist?

Everyone has their strengths within their own respective wheelhouse. To develop the mind of a successful strategist, one must always ask themselves three questions:

1) How will today's choices affect my business 1, 3, or 5 years from now?

2) Am I catering to the needs of my clients while also maintaining high-profit margins?

3) What can I do differently than my competitors to give me a leg up in the space I want to succeed?

3. How do you incorporate your mission and vision into your services?

The core of Idalia INC's services is always revolving around our mission to Inspire, Inform, and Empower. Anyone working with my company will attest that everything we tell our clients and everything we do for them always falls under those three categories. It's not only in my company's DNA but also mine.

4. What advice would you give to students and young professionals who want to enter this realm?

No matter what realm any student wants to enter, they have to be ready to put in the work. Be the first to arrive and the last to leave. Think proactively. I think that in the world of social media, some may automatically assume that success is granted overnight, but the truth couldn't be further away from that. Success takes time, patience, work, and grit to build, so be patient with yourself and your trajectory. Also, have fun along the way.
